The BFG

BOOK REVIEW

REVIEWED BY SOPHIE THOMPSON

The main characters are Sophie and the BFG. Sophie is very sensible, clever but is also a brave character, while the BFG is a bit stupid because he didn’t go to school. In a way, the BFG is funny because he talks in a weird way and gets all mixed up with his words.

One night, Sophie can’t sleep. In a dormitory with about 10 other girls, all fast asleep, she gets taken from her bed by what she thinks is a tall giant-man. She thinks that she will get eaten by him but actually the only reason that the giant took Sophie was because she saw him. Luckily the giant is a good giant called the BFG. When Sophie hears about the BFG’s neighbours who eat little children, she thinks up a good plan. Will they be able defeat the evil giants..?

I would recommend this book to 5+ as it is not scary at all and also has a scene of humour.
